We understand your project is important to you — that makes it important to us! We will give you the best quality at a great price. Our typesetting/graphic design team employs the latest technology and computer software to bring your project to life. Offset printing presses create deep, vivid color that draws attention to your documents.

Since 1968, Utah Correctional Industries has seen phenomenal growth in its printing services. Production has grown to over 33.4 million printing impressions a year. Order turnaround has been reduced by one-third and today our goal is to extend working hours to seven days a week.

The Printing Operation performs printing services that include forms, letterheads, newsletters, NCR forms, banners, car wraps and most other printing needs. We have worked with a variety of clients, including Sandy City, Department of Health, Attorney Generals’ Office, Salt Lake County, State Tax Commission, Murray City Police, Third District Court, etc. All State and local government agencies are urged to use UCI services.

The mission of UCI is to provide training and work experience for inmates in real-world-type industries and to deliver high-quality services to governmental agencies and other approved customers. The training and work experience provides an environment that stresses the same performance standards utilized by successful employees in the private sector. Our Print Shop excels in providing useful training that translates into employment opportunities after release from incarceration. UCI Printing has skilled craftsmen instructors who teach, supervise, and encourage inmate participants to provide our customers with quality products and efficient delivery times.

Through their participation, the offenders have the opportunity to learn skills in offset, wide-format and digital printing along with bindery operations such as coil binding, running collator and numbering machines, running folding equipment, quality control and color management.

We also have a team of sales clerks and a graphic design department for offenders who are trying to improve or learn creative skills.

We are currently looking into certification programs for each of our fantastic printing and bindery operations along with certifications in customer service and graphic design software.

While participating at UCI Print Shop, it is our hope that offenders will learn enough about the printing industry that any print shop on the outside would be thrilled to utilize their experience and craftsmanship.

The print industry is a growing market that changes every day. If a person has experience, they’ll be able to find lucrative work in no time. It’s truly the perfect industry for someone re-entering society.
