Armanda Mercado began her career with Corrections in 2009 with the Sex Offender and Kidnap Registry office. She transferred to UCI in 2014 as a Lead Audit Manager and Correctional Administrator.

Mercado graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and in 2010 completed a Master’s Degree in Criminal Science with an emphasis in Corrections from Weber State University. She is a licensed interpreter and lead prison auditor for the Federal Bureau of Justice Assistance

A strong believer in the power of positive thinking in the workplace, Mercado has a deep understanding of audit and strong record of leading successful employees from start to finishing with continuous improvement of an organization, budgeting oversight for government contracts as well as community outreach through social networking and other federal government initiatives is rooted in over eight years in administrative experience. She leads with empathy and a healthy dose of humor.
